Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Is Out Now on Nintendo Switch 2

A new Fire Emblem adventure has arrived. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave launched on September 17, 2026, exclusively for Nintendo Switch 2, according to Nintendo’s official game page.

The story follows four heroes—Cai, Dietrich, Theodora, and Leda—whose paths lead them to the Heroic Games, a competition said to grant its winner a wish. Their individual ambitions become part of a larger journey to change the past and save the future.

On the battlefield, turn-based combat puts positioning, terrain, weapons, and unit classes at the centre of your decisions. The main heroes also wield Blaze Arts, special abilities that consume health. Between matches, players can switch between the heroes’ storylines and progress through their adventures in parallel. Nintendo’s gameplay overview.

For me, Fire Emblem: Three Houses is a big reason to be excited. I really enjoyed that game, and it set a high bar for what I’m hoping to get from another Fire Emblem adventure. I’m rooting for Fortune’s Weave to give me just as much to enjoy, and hopefully a few new reasons to love the series.

There’s also one tactical challenge no tutorial can solve: knowing when to put the controller down. If this becomes a “one more battle” situation, my bedtime may need reinforcements.

Which Fire Emblem game sets the bar for you?
